Description
2008 Heiska
Heiska is a nice raw style liubao from Hei Shan mountain and it’s with a good price to quality ratio. I quickly emptied the sample bag of Heiska in the hot summer days 2021.
Origin, processing, trees
This liubao was not wet piled at all but fermented more slowly over the years in hot and humid Guanxi.
The leaves are quite big and there is a decent amount of sticks.
Taste, aroma, mouthfeel
Taste profile is quite vibrant with freshness and camphor transforming more to fruity character in the later steepings.
Mouthfeel is on the medium-light side and rather clean. Slight roughness on the first brewing as usual.
Qi, TCM, my experiences
The Qi is quite balanced and harmonizing, not overly stimulating.
According to TCM Liu Bao has a cooling or warming character depending on the situation.
Brewing tips
I recommend longer brewings and higher leaf amount.
Works best in a teapot (gong-fu or side-handle) but it’s also good boiled or brewed in a thermos.

Very tasty for the affordable price. The advice to brew this tea for longer and with higher amount definitely suits this tea. I feel balanced after drinking this tea. 🙂
